Charley's Monkeys began with a very special sock monkey that was given to Charlotte for Christmas. She loved that silly monkey from the start.

While we knew that our little monkey friend was quite the entertainer, we didn't realize how good of a snuggle buddy she was until one of Charlotte's hospital stays. She kept our little lady feeling safe during the long days/nights spent in a hospital bed. She also came in surprisingly handy when it came to keeping Charlotte's breathing tube propped out of the way, and at giving her arms a soft (and familiar) place to rest.
We realized that sometimes all it takes is a silly friend to keep you company through the rough patches. So we set out to create sock monkeys for our little heart friends around the country.
Charley's Monkeys was launched in 2011 as we found ourselves facing our very first Christmas without Charlotte. We had high hopes that the little monkey that brought so many smiles to our faces could do the same for the kids and families celebrating the holidays in the hospital. Not wanting to stop there, we also started sending monkeys to our little heart friends across the country who were preparing for heart surgeries and scary hospital stays.
