MENDED HEARTS
The Children's Heart Foundation was founded in 1996 and is the country's leading organization solely dedicated to funding congenital heart defect (CHD) research. Their mission is to fund the most promising research to advance the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CHDs.
Heart Heroes' mission is to provide support to children and families affected by Congenital Heart Defects (CHD) through the distribution of superhero capes, programs to offer hope and awareness initiatives to increase funding for CHD research.
Sisters by Heart was created by a group of heart moms who came together during their CHD journey. They supported each other in our journeys with our congenital heart defect children. Knowing the challenges and difficulties they faced upon diagnosis, and more so, upon bringing their HLHS fighters into this world, they created Sisters by Heart to reach out and support parents of the newly diagnosed.
Mended Hearts is a national and community-based non-profit organization that has been offering the gift of hope to heart disease patients, their families and caregivers. To offer this hope Mended Hearts provides a variety of programs including Mended Little Hearts which is the largest CHD peer-to-peer support network in the world.
We realized that sometimes all it takes is a silly friend to keep you company through the rough patches. So we set out to create sock monkeys for our little heart friends around the country.
Charley's Monkeys was launched in 2011 as we found ourselves facing our very first Christmas without Charlotte. We had high hopes that the little monkey that brought so many smiles to our faces could do the same for the kids and families celebrating the holidays in the hospital. Not wanting to stop there, we also started sending monkeys to our little heart friends across the country who were preparing for heart surgeries and scary hospital stays.
